Weekly WIP - 1/100 MG Marasai (Part 3)

Getting close to the end of this build. Finished the backpack.

Waist section is finished. Side skirts have not been added yet. Waiting until the legs are attached before putting them on.

Beam rifle completed.

Feet are all done.

Beam sabers are done.

All of the armor parts are finished.

Well that's what I thought anyways. There are 4 parts that need some work. The flaps on the bottom of the feet need more paint. I couldn't find a good way to hold these parts with clips so part of them didn't get painted. I was hoping that they didn't need more paint, but after a quick test fit, it was pretty obvious that more paint is needed.

It isn't really a big deal because I have a few other parts to paint as well. Below are all the remaining parts.

Here's everything that's finished.

Well should be done in a few days.

What else I'm into...
The Walking Dead. Picked up season 2 on bluray to get ready for next weeks season premiere. Also picked up the 14th paper back. It was so good. Literally couldn't put in down. And the end was a wow. If you like the show, check out the comic. It's better than the show, which I love to watch. And for those that don't want to ruin the show reading the book, don't worry. They're very different. Some similar events, but they don't appear in the same order. Check it out!

Weekly WIP - 1/100 MG Marasai (Part 2)

Been doing some work on the Marasai. Progress has been a bit slow as I've been trying out a few different things on this kit. Not use to doing some shiny metallic paint job. Basically, the process has become fairly routine now. For the parts that are going to remain chrome, first is a coat of enamel black gloss. Then a coat of Alclad Klear Kote. Future fogs the chrome and takes away the shine. For the blue parts, the process starts the same, black then chrome. Then I sprayed a few coats of Vallejo Transparent Blue. I really like this paint and color. Then I put on 3 coats of future. Then panel lined and added decals. Then another 3 or 4 coats of future. The dark blue is a similar process. Just swapped the chrome with the steel. The black parts also went through a similar process. I swapped the chrome with metallic black and skipped the blue. That's pretty much where I am now. Still have some polishing to do. I'll be explaining that process in the next WIP. With all that said, here are some photos.

Here are the rest of the parts and nice and clean.

What else I'm into...
The return of How I Met Your Mother. I love this show and the new season is starting in a few minutes. Got to run. So until next time...

Weekly WIP - Full Armor XN Raiser (Part 14)

So I know I haven't posted in a while, but I was too busy with life and building this kit. But, I'm finally done! Here are the photos I am using for the Mecha 2012 contest entry.

Will be doing a full photo post this week (along with a bunch of other stuff). Hope you like.

Sleep. Too many deadlines. Too much work. Too little time. Something had to give and it was sleep. Sorry, but with more free time, I plan to do a few posts this week to make up for my absence. So until next time...

Weekly WIP - Full Armor XN Raiser (Part 13)

Done a lot of work on the kit, but it's not going to look like it. Finished painting the gray parts. Panel lined the white, red, and blue parts. The white resin parts look better than I thought they would.

Before clean up

After clean up.

Added decals to the blue and red parts.

Many hours went into those details, but I think they're worth it. Should have all these parts finished this weekend. No excuse with an extra day off from work.

What else I'm into...
EVO 2012. Best fighting game players battle it out. I'm most excited for the Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 tournament. I love this game and I've really enjoyed watching the best North American players. Can't wait to see what the European and Asian players have come up with. If you're interested you can stream the tournament here: (http://evo2012.s3.amazonaws.com/live/index.html) July 6-8. All of the finals will be held on the 8th.

Weekly WIP - 1/100 MG Marasai (Part 1)

Still highlighting the and gloss coating the Full Armor 00XN Raiser, so I thought I'd show of my next big project. This will be my entry into the Gundam Eclipse Summer War Contest. Will likely be under the Modified category, just not sure about if it falls Intermediate or Advanced. Will have to check on that.

So here's my entry pass.

Haven't done much yet. Really just snapped it together. Here's the pose the kit will be in.

The waist can't support the weights so slouches a lot. Will be fixed, but this is more or less the pose. Ordered some parts and the decals. There is a hint as to what the color scheme will be. Can you spot it?

What else I'm into...
Euro 2012. Although most of the matches full during work hours, I have managed to catch quite a few games. Not sure why FIFA doesn't like replay, but if they like getting calls wrong, so be it. Been a fun tournament to watch regardless. Looks like it's headed to a Germany v Spain title game which would be great. In the mean time, I'm looking forward to Spain v Portugal match in a few days.

Weekly WIP - Full Armor XN Raiser (Part 12)

Quick update. Been doing a ton of painting. Only managed to base coat the grey parts. Based coated and highlighted all the yellow, red, blue and white parts. Personally I don't think the resin parts look good. They needed so much work. Way beyond my skill level. Yellow isn't as bright as I thought it would be. Looked good on the spoon. Not sure what happened. Everything else looks good. Can't really see the red highlight, but it's there. It should show up better in the final result.

Also managed to finish a few parts.

CEO 2012. Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 tourney was awesome. So many good players. So many great matches. If you didn't catch it, check out the youtube vids that will probably be up in a few days. They're about the run the Top 24 for Street Fighter 4 AE so until next time...
